What each permission is for.
Location gives the start, end and route of a drive. Allowing it in the background lets Klicksy record while the app is closed. Precise Location helps measure the route more accurately. Motion & Fitness helps distinguish driving from walking and cycling.

Enable automatic tracking.
The first release uses iPhone settings. The same permission controls are also shown in Klicksy so you can see what needs attention.
Turn on automatic tracking in Klicksy
Open Settings and check Automatic trip tracking. If your free monthly allowance has been used, Pro or the next month’s allowance is needed for more automatic trips.
Check location in the device Settings app
Find Klicksy, open Location, choose Always and turn on Precise Location. If the Always option is not yet offered, return to Klicksy’s setup prompts to request background access.
Allow Motion & Fitness
Enable the requested permission in setup, or check Klicksy’s access in the device settings.
Check background operation and storage
Allow Background App Refresh and make sure the device has room to save trips. Review the tracking requirements shown in Klicksy.
A drive did not appear?
Check permissions and the Automatic trip tracking switch first. Also check the monthly trip allowance and available device storage. Power-saving settings or changes to background access can affect recording.
Add a missing trip manually and review the rest of the day’s history. If the issue continues, contact support with your device model, operating system version and what happened.
Where does the location information go?
Recorded trips and routes are saved on your device, not uploaded to Klicksy servers. Map searches and requests to estimate a missed start use Apple Maps. Reports and backup files are shared only when you choose to save or send them.

Why does Klicksy need location access?
Location lets Klicksy work out where a drive starts and ends and how far you travel. Background access lets it do that while the app is closed. Precise Location helps record the route accurately; Motion & Fitness helps distinguish driving from walking or cycling.
Will location tracking use my battery?
Background location can use battery. The amount varies with your device, driving time and settings. Motion detection helps Klicksy recognise drives; we do not promise a fixed battery usage figure.
