What stays on your device
Klicksy stores your trips, routes, odometer readings, vehicles, saved destinations, trip purposes and preferences on your device. Trip classification takes place there too. We do not receive these records on Klicksy servers and cannot access your driving history.
You do not need a Klicksy account. The app has no advertising or analytics.
Why location and motion are used
Location is used to record where a drive starts and ends, its route and its distance. Background location lets automatic tracking work while the app is closed. Precise Location improves route recording, and Motion & Fitness helps recognise driving rather than walking or cycling.
You control these permissions in your device settings. Turning them off can affect automatic tracking. You can also switch automatic tracking off in Klicksy.
Apple services
Klicksy uses Apple Maps for map display, address searches and, when needed, estimating a missed part of a trip’s start. Searches and route requests may be processed by Apple under its privacy practices. This is separate from uploading your recorded trip history to a Klicksy service.
Pro purchases and subscription checks use Apple’s App Store services. Apple manages the purchase and payment information through your Apple Account.
Reports and backups you choose to share
CSV and PDF reports and full backups are created when you request them. You choose where to save or send those files. If you use email, a cloud drive or another service, that provider handles the file under its own practices.
Your device’s backup settings may also affect where device data is copied. The statement that Klicksy does not store trips on its own servers does not mean a backup you choose to make can never be stored elsewhere.
How long records stay in the app
Choose one, two or three years of trip storage in Settings. The default is two years. Trips and routes older than the selected period are deleted automatically. Shortening the period can remove older records after confirmation.
Deleting the app removes its local data. Save exports and a full backup outside the app beforehand if you want to keep the records. We do not have a server copy to restore.
This website
The Klicksy website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site and to improve its content. This tracking applies to the website only. The Klicksy app does not include Google Analytics, and website analytics does not access your app’s trips, routes or other records.
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as pages viewed, interactions, referring websites, browser and device information, and approximate location derived from an IP address. Google processes this information to provide website usage reports. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
Our website tag disables Google signals and advertising personalization signals. We do not send names, email addresses or app trip records to Google Analytics. Google may process website analytics information outside Canada under its privacy practices.
You can manage or delete cookies in your browser and use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on where supported to prevent Google Analytics from measuring your visits. Blocking cookies alone may not stop all analytics requests.
The website does not require account registration. Its hosting provider may process standard request information, such as an IP address, to serve the site.
If you follow an App Store or CRA link, that website’s privacy practices apply. If you email us, we receive the message and the details you include. You do not need to send a full trip history to ask a general question.
