Add a vehicle.
Have the make, model and year handy. A nickname can make two similar vehicles easier to tell apart.
Open Settings → Vehicles
Tap the plus button to add a vehicle. If you already have an active vehicle, you will need Pro to add another.
Enter the vehicle details
Add the make, model and year. Nickname and licence plate are optional.
Add an initial odometer reading
This is optional, but a useful starting point. Enter the actual number shown on the vehicle’s odometer.
Review the options and save
Choose whether it is the primary vehicle. When adding your first vehicle, Assign existing records can move unassigned trips and readings to it.
Understand the assignment options.
Primary vehicle is the default selection for new odometer readings. The Business trips option can automatically assign business trips to one vehicle; only one vehicle can use that option at a time.
A frequent destination can also suggest a vehicle. Check assignments when you switch cars, and change the vehicle on individual trips when necessary. Klicksy does not automatically identify the car you are in.
Update the odometer or retire a vehicle.
Open a vehicle and choose Update Odometer to record a new actual reading. The app may show an estimated current reading based on saved trip distances; use the dashboard reading from the vehicle for formal records.
Archive a vehicle when you stop using it. Existing trips and odometer readings keep their vehicle assignment, and the archived vehicle is left out of new automatic assignments. Deleting a vehicle removes its assignments from saved trips and readings.
Common questions
How do I add another vehicle?
Open Settings, choose Vehicles and tap the plus button. Your first active vehicle is included for free; additional active vehicles require Klicksy Pro. Give each vehicle its own details and check which vehicle is assigned to each trip.
